Here are some pics of a Modded PAS3 preamp from Dynaco. They were a company that made quality audio gear, that most people could afford to buy. They were not perfect, but they had to make concessions to keep their equipment affordable. Today the modifications are reasonably priced from cottage industries, such as dynaco-doctor.com and triodeelectronics.com.

This one has a “CC Chong” capacitor replacement board to replace the ageing selenium rectifier and filter capacitors. I also have a new selector switch from Dynaco-Doctor.com. I have retained only the phono input, the SPARE line input and replaced two caps on the phono board to turn two of the low-level inputs into line level inputs. Both PC boards were replaced with new ones made by vintagelectron. The boards are available on ebay.Here is how the PAS 3 looked, when built to original instructions and parts:
