Once again we spent a long weekend in Hendersonville N.C. We never get tired of the area!

Labor Day Weekend 2007
Tuesday, September 4th, 2007Another “First Weekend In May” Trip to Western N.C.
Monday, May 7th, 2007Well what use to be an annual trip to the Georgia Mountain BMW rally in Hiawassee GA, has turned into an annual trip to Hendersonvlle N.C. The rally is still a nice ride from H’ville and there are plenty of great roads in the area. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 30 minutes away, or longer, if I take the more scenic but, longer route. 
Friday and Saturday were overcast and rainy. On Saturday, we did our mandatory visit to the Smokehouse restaurant in Cashiers N.C, for a great burger and fries. They also serve great ribs too! On Sunday we rode to Maggie Valley on Hwy 276, had lunch and rode the BRP home. Here is a picture of the parkway Sunday morning:

Labor Day Weekend 2006
Tuesday, September 5th, 2006Well instead of the Boone Rally, we went to Hendersonville N.C. We left Columbia late in the day. I rode the Yamaha FZ6 and Vickie in the car with our two dogs. I went up 176 as usual and then took I-85 to the Cracker Barrel for a lite lunch and to meet up with Vickie, who left columbia after running some errands. From there we tok I-26 to H’ville, got to the house ang got settled in.
We rode over to MR motorcycles in Asheville to pick up a Frogg Togg rainsuit for Vickie. MR is a nice dealership quick, fast, and friendly service. The Frogg Togg suit was $60. A certain BMW dealer wanted $75 for just the rain jacket and $59 fr the pants!!! I don’t think so.
We then rode up the BRP for Lunch at the Mount Mitchell restaurant. and then back down the BRP to Brevard to get something at Radio Shack. They were closed, so off to Lowes.
Sunday we explored some local roads in Hendersonville before making another run on the parkway. This trip was little on riding and a lot of relaxing, after moving into a new house.
New Ride
Friday, May 19th, 2006Well today was a trip to Asheville N.C. to purchase a Ducati S2R. The bike in question is a 2005 model with 2700 on the clock. The ride back was south down the parkway to 276 and on to Hendersonville N.C. From H’ville to Columbia S.C. it was all interstate to see how the bike rode at freeway speeds.
October In Western N.C.
Monday, October 24th, 2005We spent four days in Western N.C. I rode the FZ6 up and my wife drove the (new to us) Miata. Friday we drove the Miata up the BRP to Little Switzerland and went to a great used book shop there. We try to get there at least once a year. The Miata was a fun ride up the BRP (The Miata was made for this type of road) with the top down and the temperature in the low to mid 60s.
The FZ6 was ridden one day out of the four as we were having too much fun with the Miata. Oh well, when you get a new toy, you just have to play with it!
