I'm right there with you Meemuh,

An aggressive gym schedule has put 1lbs back on.. After 3 months of the scale telling me what I want to hear (see) going up is brutal.. emotionally speaking..

On we go..
But it's muscle, so it's good news.  Muscle has a higher metabolic rate, so it will help you burn the fat off even quicker. :)

as of today I am down 50.5 lbs..  From 308.5 to 258. It took 105 days.

I even managed to lose weight on vacation. We were in Florida for 10 days, 6 at Walt Disney World, and we hit the GYM 7 of those days. Moreover we had a full kitchen so we cooked a lot, which helped.

Wow! That's over 3 lbs per week. That's amazing!

Much as I hate the truth of it I had to eat less and exercise more..

I'm sticking to a low calorie diet (started at 1800 and am now at 1650 a day) and I am burning between 500 and 2000 calories a day (sometimes as high as 2500).  Biking, hiking/walking, and swimming, mixed with weights.

It just turns out that I am in a place (full time grad student) where I can do all this, my schedule in very flexible in the morning, so I am making the most if it.

That's fantastic. I gained a lot of my weight in grad school. My loss average when I did my big drop was about 1.7 lbs per week.

I had help for the 1st 30 lbs. I used Phentermine to kick start the process. It paid great dividends.

FWIW I'm not really trying to lose weight. The Dr. says considering my body structure I'm ok at 5'-10" and 195 lb. I have been pretty consistent at the gym for the past 4 years doing only cardio stuff. Elliptical, bike, stair stepper. Last fall I started swimming laps. Without modifying my diet much, other than not eating after 9:00 pm, I went from @ 200 a year ago to 188. I'm now swimming a mile in about 45 minutes. Not an Iron Man  pace but considering that when I started last fall I could barely string two non stop laps together I'm pretty happy with that. My point is that despite the regular cardio routine it wasn't until  I started swimming that I saw any weight loss.
YMMV

Swimming is amazing. I jumped in the pool when my hip (loudly) complained about the vigorous walking/jogging I was doing and the results were awesome. 40 minutes in the pool is about 1250 meters (not a mile but good enough for me!). Swimming has increased my energy, improved my breathing and cardio stamina, and generally makes me feel great.

My work pants have, um, shrunk and I'm too cheap to buy new ones.

Down 10 lbs in 10 days on Atkins. One more week of <20 grams of carbs/day. Aiming for 15 off and pants that fit again.

I miss beer :'(

I am starting to think I might actually have to get new gear.. My textile jacket and pants (which 4 months ago I was too big to wear comfortably) are so loose it's silly..

This week 257 and that is fine by me..

Here is to being only slightly fat  :bigok:

I'm at the low end of obese. Hopefully I will break into the 220s on my next official weigh in this weekend.

Congrats y'all! I'm up 30 lbs now, but only at 16 weeks. Thankfully the morning sickness is over so I won't have to stuff my face to keep from being sick all the time. I'm gonna try to hold steady from here.
