I took the 530 (er 570) out for the afternoon and did a mix of back roads and dirt roads. The leg felt surprisingly normal going from sitting to standing and I wasn't favoring it while standing. Good day on the bike. Time to kick it up a notch and do an all-day dual sport riding down into WV and back.

About 250 butt-conditioning shakedown miles yesterday.

Stopped for lunch at the Erie Hotel

In honor of the 50th, I broke a long-standing convention and drank a Woodstock IPA.
The burgers at this place are great.  Here is your obligatory food photo.  We ate everything not shown.

The bar is a real throwback to the day's of steam power.
There are no STO'ners at the bar, just in case you were wondering.

Destination was that short stretch of twistie-bliss known as Hawk's Nest, although it resembled PoPo Perch.
However, long stretches of the roads there and back were virtually devoid of traffic.
And unlike much of PA, road surfaces were clean in good condition.  Awesome cruising.

Rode my Tuono for the first time in over 2 years today. Tags are expired so it was a short jaunt up and down the road I live on to be sure everything worked as expected. It does. Damn I forgot how fast that thing is. Tags tomorrow and we'll be riding this week.

Yep. Did about 150 kms to get some stainless bolts to attach the GPS and the Stebel to the Biffer. Then to a new Honda dealer to order a neutral switch. They had a Tracer GT on the showroom floor. Man that thing looks sweet.
My GPS just told me to turn left, then turn left, then turn left, then turn left.
So if I go too far left do I end up right?

About 60 miles r/t to Martins Classic Ride-In

We un-classics parked in the lower lot.  Larger turn-out than I expected considering how overcast it was.

Most unusual bike with HD logo on the left sidecase.  I don't know if Harley actually made a big single, or if this was a one-off custom.

It’s a Harley Davidson Sprint SX350 from what I can tell.

Pipe of the right side looks like it was taken off a 70s Yamaha dual-sport.

That bike looks like a trials bike with a different seat.

I totally forgot about the ride in yesterday. Thanks for taking some pictures.

I got out for the afternoon today (Sunday). Rode the WV panhandle then back north to WashPa and home. 230 miles. Nice enough day with plenty of sun and low 50s. I'll take it. Got home in seriously fading daylight, so I didn't leave any miles on the table as it were.

I sandbagged over the weekend but got out for a 100 miles today. Bounced around northern Lancaster county and southern Berks county.

It was a blast!

I used to ride with a good friend who had a cruiser.

His habit was to spend 15 minutes after each 2 or 3 hour ride detailing a section of his bike.

His bike always looked perfect.   And he never spent hours cleaning it.

My habit after each ride was to make a Manhattan.  No regrets.

Nope, not me either.  Dates just haven’t lined up with my plans.  Really liked his meets.

The thing on Rt 75 happened before 2008 because I still had my FJR.   There were 2 white vans going opposite directions and the drivers stopped to talk to one another across the yellow line.  They were right on the exit of one of the switchbacks.   The rider in front of our group lane split right between them.  It was close.  I guess they recognized traffic was coming because they started moving a the gap got wider by the time I went through.  Good thing because I don’t think I would have made it otherwise.  We were all impressed by whoever that first guy was.  He wasn’t riding with our little group.  I thought I heard later it was you.  GD @sshole place to stop.

I finally got out and blew the cobwebs off the GSA yesterday.   Not too far, less than 150 miles but it was a good shakedown for next weekends trek out Valentines, VA to drop off cards at the Post Office.

Yesterday, I actually got on a motorcycle for a bit.  Took Kermit to return the redbox movies and came home the "long way" along the river.  So.  Incredibly.  Rusty.  Not a fast ride, not a particularly comfortable ride since I felt like a baby deer on ice, but it was a ride.

It was a lovely 70 deg. over here in SD so got out for a bit, the bikes feel so much faster when you haven't ridden them in a while.

I met an older guys years ago with a handicap plate on his GS. He pulled right into a handicap spot, pulled out this folding cane, and hopped of the bike.

Went riding with him and he was super fast or at least I thought so at the time. Could have been more that I was a slow rider with not a lot of experience.

I had no idea you could get a handicap plate for a motorcycle until meeting him.
