The Official St.o meet in VA June 19th - 21st
« on: Yesterday at 01:49:00 PM »
St.o 2020 Spring Meet in Virginia meet at my home here in Spotsylvania, 22551. I can accommodate a baker's dozen for sleeping arrangements and have two full bathrooms for you guys and gals at your disposal. I built this house like a vacation home as we get a lot of visitors. There's a saloon with a pool table in the basement to throw down after a days ride. I'm on a 1 acre wooded lot on Lake Anna so there's oodles of room to pitch, parking of cars and trailers, pitch a tent and camp as well.

We will provide a basic breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast, hash brown to start your day. All other meals are on you. We will provide all linens, towels, washcloths, hand towel, sheets and pillows for those who stay in Casa De Redneck.

I have a 2 1/2 car garage that I built with general tools and a lift should you need some unexpected wrenching done.

Where I'm located, you're about 1.5 hrs away from Skyline Drive, BRPW. So I'm not sure if that's too far away for y'all to get your twistie on?

Here's some more poop on the general area.

Our home here in Spotsylvania, 22551. I can accommodate a baker's dozen for sleeping arrangements and have two full bathrooms for you guys and gals at your disposal. I built this house like a vacation home as we get a lot of visitors. There's a saloon with a pool table in the basement to throw down after a days ride. I'm on a 1 acre wooded lot on Lake Anna so there's oodles of room to pitch a tent and camp as well, some even camp on the boat dock. My home is handicap friendly with ramps to enter from the front.

I tried cooking supper for the group last one I hosted and it just became too mucking fuch for me Mrs. V with food prep, cooking, set up and clean up.

I have a 2 1/2 car garage that I built with general tools if you want to have a tech day as well.

Where I'm located, you're about 1.5 hrs away from Skyline Drive, BRPW. So I'm not sure if that's too far away for y'all to get your twistie on? Due to foul weather I was thinking May as the roads won't be too congested with tourism yet.

A few thoughts as there seems to be some interest.

- There's a grocery and liquor store 3 miles away.
- All are welcome to have a go on my bikes.
- I could use some volunteers to help lead some rides.
- If there's dietary needs like vegetarian, vegan or gluten free, please let me know ahead of time.
- We have 2 attack pugs Petunia and Ms. Daisy Mae so beware and of course Bourbon the bully. Zero aggression out of my pups. (allergies)
- For those of you into kayaking, I strongly recommend driving down with kayak and bike in tow. This time of year is amazing and no one is on the lake.
- The boat ramp is next to the house.
- I have one room with a total of 4 beds, meaning two bunk bed. (privacy with a door)
- The loft has 2 day beds (twin size) with room for an air mattress with no privacy.
- The basement has a queen size (overflow from selling our condo in Arlington).
- I have 2 blow up mattresses that are queen size. Take your pick on where to plant those. There's my reloading room that's private with a door if you don't mind sleeping with 15 kegs of gunpowder. ;)
- Saturday morning very early I'll cook up a traditional breakfast; bacon, eggs, hash-browns, and biscuits. After that, everyone is on there own and there's plenty of places to eat with in a 30 min. ride.
- Paved roads all the way to the house, zero gravel.
- BYOB, I'll have some stuff here, beer, wine and some stuff in the bar.
- There's a fire pit in the back yard with stumps for seats.
- I have lots of fishing gear if you want to have a go at panfish, bass or catfish.
- In the saloon there's a full size pool table, bar and air hockey, tv set up with Wii. It's a great place to socialize and hang out for the evening.
- My home is handicap friendly

All loaners of my bikes are on a first come first serve basis. So advocate or defecate should you need one.

PS: For you offroaders, there's George Washington Nat'l Forest that's supposed to be sweet. If you have any question post them up and other members will chime in.

I figure it's always kind of sketchy when someone invites you to stay in their home. My home is super clean and respectable and I can assure folks that the accommodations are more than decent.

The rack'em and stack'em room.

The loft.

Restroom to accommodate the above folks.

The saloon. Yes, it has batwing doors on it.

Pardon the stuff as we are still combining two homes.

Queen size in the basement.

Rest room for the downstairs.

So there it is in all it's glory. Tisn't much but if it turns out like the last one is will be a great event!

I will clear out the garage and we should be able to get most of the scoots/bikes in the garage each night. What's unusual about this offer is you will forfeit some privacy, think slumber party. One room has 4 bunk beds, so if 4 of you are in there and 2 snore, I can't help you. Capice? What you lose in privacy you gain in hanging out with 10 to 20 like minded folks to discuss the finer attributes of what we do. Have all the beverages you want and no worries on getting back to a hotel.

There's an ice maker in the saloon so if you need any please don't bring any. There was mild interest in the patches/stickers so I didn't follow through on that idea.

If you would prefer to hotel it, there's only two options.

HighPoint Marina (The nicer of the two, sundry store, nice view) 2 miles from the cabin even though it says Mineral, we live on the county line.
Lighthouse Inn
4634 Courthouse Rd.
Mineral, VA  23117
540 895 5249

Lake Anna Lodge (Fleabag motel that the bass tourney fisherman use) Bar on the premises, 1 mile from the cabin, no view.
5152 Courthouse Rd.
Spotsylvania, VA 22553
Phone: (540) 895-5302

There's many vineyards to visit if you wish. The closest being Lake Anna Winery. They are very active in the community, hosts RenFest, events with music and such. Here.

If you're a civil war buff I can point you in a hundred different directions.

Anteitam National Battlefield - The Bloodiest Day in American History--Hope for Freedom
https://www.nps.gov/anti/index.htm]https://www.nps.gov/anti/index.htm

Harper's ferry - A must see if you haven't visited before with loads of history and a scenic town nestled on the Potomac river.
https://www.nps.gov/hafe/index.htm]https://www.nps.gov/hafe/index.htm

Tank Museum - If you're a WW2 buff there's the tank museum which is awesome. About 2.5 hrs ride each way in Danville.
https://www.aaftankmuseum.com/

Jamestown settlement/Williamsburg - fort and museum is cool to check out as well. Ground zero for America!
https://www.visitwilliamsburg.com/

Nice dining there's Tim's at lake Anna for seafood about 20 minutes away.
http://timslakeanna.com/

Callie Opes -10 minutes away.
http://callieopiesorchard.com/menu/

The Virginia Museum of Transportation - They are supposed to have a decent train museum.
http://www.vmt.org/collections/rail/steam-locomotives/steam-locomotive-norfolk-and-western-class-j-611/

Cooter's Place - If you're a Dukes of Hazard fan nestles next to Luray Caverns.
https://cootersplace.com/

BRPW and Skyline Drive need no introduction.

Ask away should you need any other information and we hope to see you there!

Eric

PS: I'll pm my personal address and phone to each of you when we get closer. I do not wish to publish it on the world wide web.

You could launch into the lake no problem. I has seen video. It is small. Like packable on a motorcycle small.

The wife and I plan to ride over Saturday and or Sunday. It's about a two hour ride for me so I won't need accomodations.

I plan to be cannon free.

I'm close enough for a day trip if she's gonna be greedy. Or I could ......cough cough just get sick on Friday. :D Next decision is Road King or Tuono.................

Put me down for an air mattress in the basement.  I’ll guard the Jagerbombs.

but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore.   Vincent van Gogh

I will not be bringing vodka.
Maybe some very good coffee and some cigars but vodka would be bad.

I'm allergic. When I drink I break out in ex-wives and handcuffs.
