The USA distributor is shutting down...or has shut down so for the foreseeable future no more local stock. New Enough has them all on closeout at decent prices but limited sizes.

I picked up a pair of Caliber gloves last fall and just grabbed a pair of Freezer gloves now. Hoped to get a pair of Steve's too but my size was not available.

From what I gather they are just looking for a new distributor stateside.

Like helmets, I buy what I'm used to & what has proven maximum protection during crashes. I've totalled 2 bikes on the street & have crashed at least 8 times on the track, high & low side. I like to stick to Arai, Alpine Stars, Tour Master, Olympia, Triumph & BMW gear. Price no object. When I started riding & was shopping for riding protection I don't recall any Held gloves/gear. Just like work trucks, I'm sure they all offer something but im going to stick to what has been proven in my line of work for 18 years. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Thanks for your concern.

I just got a pair of Held gloves on sale from Revzilla - the Titan Race Gloves - normally $350.00; I paid $280.00. I bought these on the recommendation of Reg Pridmore (http://www.classrides.com) and the fact that he had the gloves he had crashed in on display at one of his classes - still serviceable after a high-speed crash.

By the way, although the list of features you posted included "Sweat resistant kangaroo leather" that's actually incorrect.  Kangaroo leather is more prone to sweat rot than cowhide or deerskin, so make sure you wash them every so often after hot rides.

I have no idea. I've never heard of them before this thread. I haven't road raced since '08 & nobody I knew used the Held brand. I haven't shopped anywhere for gloves other than the Triumph & BMW dealers in the past few years & neither one of those dealers(the ones that I go to) carry that brand. At least not on their shelves. The ones that you have pictured & described above look & sound like they would be okay. They seem reasonably priced as well. Cheers

As mentioned, I'm sure Held will connect with another distributor and keep NA operations going.

I've been meaning to do a review of the Held Air N Dry Gloves I acquired in early 2013.  They are a multi-season glove which I can attest works very well in warm summer weather as well as low 30s thanks to an optional (use) inner liner. 

The inner liner is GorTEX so the glove is 100% waterproof (also tested).

If you slid your hand in the glove and not use the inner liner, your hand is exposed to perforated kangaroo leather for venting.  If you slid your hand in the inner liner, its wind and waterproof and, with my heated grips, I rode several mornings out west this year with temps in the low 30s very comfortably.

They sound like  very interesting and versatile glove.

I was in the RevZilla store over the weekend. There was no shortge of Held gloves on the shelf. I picked up a pair of Rodneys.

Toxic sweat.  I had 'roo palmed Teknic(Violator and Speedstar) and Held(Akira) gloves for over 5 years each.  And I barely ever cleaned or conditioned them.  Lots of touring in them, as well as backroad twistied.  Heck, the Akiras are still, technically, servicable.  I tore a rivit out of the palm in a trackday crash.
