Question for DL650 owners
« on: October 18, 2016, 02:47:15 PM »
Does anyone here have a DL650 and use full heated gear? Jacket, Gloves pants and socks (Gerbing).  Wondering if the stock stator and rotor will handle all of those accessories or if an upgrade to the charging system is needed.  Thanks

My stock '06 Wee powered a Gerbings jacket & gloves just fine.

+1

I also had heated grip elements and would occasionally run them, too. Even though I *think* it would power them all ok for long durations, I didn't often need to use both the grips and gloves, so as a rule, I didn't.

Jacket, gloves and grips will be fine but that's the upper limit.  You can free up a few watts easily by swapping out bulbs to LED ones.

Pants and socks are going to be pushing it, even with LED bulbs.
