1983 Nighthawk 650

Selling the '83 Honda rebuild project bike (for Lauren)

I'll get full details, but we're looking at a '83 'Hawk with low-for-the-age miles that sat a long time. I've gone through the bike, end to end and refurbbed, rebuilt or replace anything critical to safety and running. It's still far from being a show bike or fully-restored vintage pride piece. It's a rider's machine. Since these pics were taken, Lauren has got hold of a new black seat cover, or replaced the seat, etc., so it looks less ghetto chic :)

Trying to remember everything I did to it... rebuilt replacement carbs, new plugs, of course new oil and filter, replaced gear lube in final drive, fork oil and seals, fixed some electrical issues, kind of all over the bike, new master cylinder, caliper rebuilds, new tires, clean and flush gas tank (I did not coat it - I'm just not sure how much a fan I am of those treatments over time and this one wasn't so bad), removed the sparkly horrible paint job and replaced some body panels with red bits, and some were repainted rattle can black where we couldn't easily replace them in a time frame or budget, new handle bars, mirrors, left side controls, turn signal assemblies, rear shocks.

It ain't pretty, but it's solid.

Happy to assist in logistics for costs.

Looking for $1100 with negotiations expected.

is the 83 the same as the 85?

I have the original black seat for this bike. Available for shipping only-or come and get it. I originally saved this bike from destruction-I couldn't bear to see it get scrapped. Chornbe put a lot of love  into it and got it running as it should. The original owner was a girl that didn't have much help maintaining it. She also didn't have a good eye for color, as it was something horrible-I can't even describe. But, it was never abused. If I wasn't trying to thin the herd, I'd be on this in a heartbeat.

Oh man, yes, please. Shipping to 19803 and I'll get you paid. Lauren has a new seat cover for me to put on, but with knee replacement surgery tomorrow, the most I'm going to be able to do is stand there with a cane while people try to beat me up on price :)

I've really enjoyed this project, and it got Lauren on wheels and built her confidence. And it never got narcoleptic on her :)
