Don't think we would've survived that long.  ;D

Hell, I think my dad was the last person on the block to buy a power mower.  We had the old push reel type; and he'd wait until Saturday afternoon when it was 90 degrees and 90% humidity to 'suggest' we get out there and start mowin'.   Here's to you, Pop!!

Our Cub is old. I need to pump two of the tires up each time and the deck is close to needing a rebuild. As far as waiting, it's all about the$$.

Are you sure you have enough room in the garage for that?

A box store (Lowe's, Home Depot) John Deere?  Picked mine up new in 2011 for $1600.  42" cut.  I found a plow on CL for $150 (about $300-400 new, I think).  Add chains ($40-Amazon) and a 80lb weight ($5-bag of cement) on the back and you're good to go.  Works well on 1/2 acre for me.  Definitely go with the hydrostatic.  A good little machine--so far no issues, but I don't abuse my stuff.
