If a person's primary concern is increasing freedom, they should prepare for a reduction in average lifespan.  ---  Misanthropist

If I'm reading this correctly, you might be in the Bay Area right around the 23rd when the Region 1 dinner group meets up at Alice's Restaurant.

If your BAC reads like an area code, you're probably going to have a bad day.

Maybe. My cousin has popped up and asked that we stay over one night at her place. We're still considering what the route out to California will be. Jeanne's rethinking the high temps on the way to Vegas.

So it may change to heading out to Salt Lake then on to Donner Pass and south.

But if we're in the area on the 23rd, we'll crash the party :)

Beaver to LV is just under 4 hours. Time it correctly and you'll be through Vegas before the hot afternoon hours. Once you're Barstow, it should be in the mid-90's. Not so bad for the area.

Looks like a great trip.

As always, I'm on the east side of the Bay area should anything come up.

Have guest room, tools and cold beer.

There are so many great roads east and west up and around yosemite - I'd do a little bit of back and forth riding so as not to miss them.

Do these like shoe laces: 120, 108, 4, 88, 50

:)
You may find yourself living in a shotgun shack  -You may find yourself in another part of the world
You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile- You may find yourself in a beautiful house with a beautiful wife-
You may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?

Left this morning at 8:30am. 540 expected miles and intended on being in Beaver Utah this evening.

We are in Milford, 30 miles west of Beaver.

Took a bit longer to get here even with 100+ mile rides. Traffic prior to Vail especially was bad.

Got to Grand Junction around 1pm and arrived in Milford at about 7:30.

Hot ride.

More later.

About the only really silly thing was a piece of cardboard box in Grand Junction flew up and hit me in the helmet.

Otherwise it was nice but hot.

My cousin bailed so we're heading straight to LA here in a bit.

Pics and video will come.

Coming into Ca on 15 and big assed traffic jam

On the bad side, 102 and Jeanne is melting.

On the good side, filtering is fun :D

Man, 109 when we got on 10. Freaking hot.

We got off at rosemead for gas and a check where we were and no entrance back to 10 west. We wandered about, 60 to 710 to 10 to alameda east. A check then and 10 east to 5 to 710 south to 405 to cherry to my brother's.

And he doesn't have AC!

Dinner at the local place (9 noodles? Something) which was good.

Check out next spot. Merced. Get a room and crash on the floor.

Now we're just hanging about and will bail around 10. North to Yosemite.

Note for yesterday,

Some maniac from Oregon was flying through traffic on 15 in CA. But I still kept up, staying in the right and cruising :)

Then stopped traffic. Filter, filter, excellent, filter. Real cool (and hot 99 to 102)

The 'busa wouldn't have made it. I think the fan's out or heat sensor. Need to check it.

Don't think I would have gone if I just had the 'busa. My right knee swelled last Wed, don't know why and was a bit sensitive but better Sat morning. I took the connie out as a test and it was okay.

Jeanne made an interesting discovery this morning.

I grabbed the wrong passport. I have the expired one :(

But, call house/cat sitter. "I'll give you the instructions on where mypassport is, can you hit the FedEx store and send it to my cousin next day?"

"Absolutely."

Assuming she can find it (and it should be there), we'll still be able to go to Canada :)

Updates as they occur :)

109 degrees on the way out of LA. Bumper to bumper on the 405 north. Got some filtering done but the bike is wider than I'm less than comfortable if it's close. Nothing like being stuck on the freeway in LA because I misjudged or some moron has a problem. Some guy wanted to dispute my passing but I made it anyway.

Anyway, north on 99 above Bakersfield. Headeding to Stockton and east to the B&B in San Andreas.

Same here but my guest room comes with two four-legged very entertaining hosts.
