Get GA tickets, there are plenty of places to sit and move around with GA.  It's a wonderful facility and worth experiencing!

And, go eat at these places:

Southside Market

Kreuz Market

And, while downtown Austin isn't bike-crazy as downtown Indy during the weekend (damn, Indy really does a fine job), it's worth walking 6th St. and finding a bar with a band you like to hear.  So many choices.
Why sit and steer when you can lean and soar?

6th Street is nothing but a drunk fest. There's a reason they block it off from the east side of Congress to Red River.

Where are you staying?

I can't go this year, bummed don't begin to describe it.  :bash:

6th and environs have many live music options besides 'drunkfest'. I found a nice jazz bar last year. Also, look up the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show, it's on 5th St. just on the other (east) side of I-35. Good fun and cool bikes, plus they're running a short track race.

The 3-turn pass plus pits is what I've had. Your friends did you a solid.
