I took the bike in for the first service. They took care of the windshield issue with zero pushback. They ordered the parts for the front end clunk (right front inner rebound fork cartridge) and I'll go back of the install on them when they come in. I need to go back and edit my comments on the windshield as it wasn't set up properly to begin with.

Overall I'm very pleased with the way they handled this issue and the first service was $240 (take off $15 for the chain lube I purchased) was very reasonable.

The next service recommendation is in 9,320 mi/15,000 km. Wow! Times change on service intervals. I'll probably change the oil myself at 4 or 5k and have a proper service at the 9,320 mile mark to check the bike over.

When I have the front end work done in a couple of weeks to get rid of the clunk, I'm going to have one of the optional software updates installed. As of this writing they offer three options. I was going to add the HHC, see description below. I'm undecided at this point in time.

- HHC (HILL HOLD CONTROL) The optional HHC (Hill Hold Control) prevents the motorcycle from accidentally rolling backwards. It identifies if the 1290 Super Adventure is on a slope and at a standstill. After the rider has released the brake, the function automatically keeps the brakes applied until the bike is moving forward. The rider can then set off without rolling backward, ensuring a smooth start.

- MSR (MOTOR SLIP REGULATION) The optionally available MSR (Motor Slip Regulation) works in the opposite direction of the MTC. If, due to shifting down or abruptly shutting off the throttle, the torque generated by engine drag is too high, the RBW (Ride-by-Wire) system opens the throttle by exactly as much as is needed to prevent the rear wheel from locking and causing a potential skid. With the help of MSC, this system is also lean angle sensitive, giving an additional safety plus.

- SCC (SELF CANCELING TURN SIGNALS) ***Already installed on NA bikes. I believe that this is option in other parts of the world.

So far so good 1,000 mile into the honeymoon. I love this bike.

Here's a few pics of the complete install. Please excuse the mess in the garage as I'm preparing to move.
