Just curious why Maggie Valley rather than Robbinsville? I mean, I like Maggie Valley; my first trip the dragon was home-based there. But Robbinsville, et al, seems closer to the better twisties and is overall more bike-favorable, I'd think.

Either way, it's my intention for us to be there.

I'm old, and at $3 a drink for anything in the house, it's pretty easy to get your fill for like $20.  :bigok:

Largely a matter of name recognition.   (And dare I say it in this crowd; proximity to the slab.)

There were a several other locations mentioned, although I don't recall discussing Robinsville specifically.    Without exception, Maggie Valley always got the nod.   If Maggie Valley is what folks want; why not?

Between you and me, what's the difference?  A relatively enjoyable hour in the saddle?

Which bar?  I'll be glad to discuss it ad nausium as long as there's cold beer.  ;D

I'm not a drinker so it makes no nevermind to me but I'm fairly sure that Robbinsville is dry which might be an issue for the lushes in the crowd.  Can't go wrong anywhere down there from a location perspective.

Will probably skip this one -- been to Maggie Valley last two years in a row for RoadRunner.

Meh.  8)

But seriously, Tammy still works and has 'x' number of vacation days available.  We're doing the Spring Meet at Hawk's Nest, planning on a jaunt down to Key West almost immediately after that in early May, and then riding to the RoadRunner Touring Weekend at Snowshoe in July.  We really enjoyed our year's end fly-n-ride out to NV & CA and want to do something like that again near the end of this year.  Kinda like Doug touched on in his "Motivation" thread, sometimes the pond feels a little fished out and that's how we feel about Maggie Valley right now.

Oh, I like Maggie Valley. Been there a number of times, and other than the ride through Cherokee (which is a complete and utter shit hole) the riding all around is very nice.

Probably the *only* reasons I'd choose Robbinsville over it are the immediate proximity to the Dragon and to Wheeler's.

I'm in.
