24k-Isn't that a valve check too? Will they do it warm? I thought it had to be stone cold to check.

Well, that would be a long wait. 

Yet another reason to trailer it to the dealer.  Damn, I hate placing my bike on a trailer when it's in running condition.

Seriously, get a service loaner. Talk them out of a demo for a couple of days. It's a great way to try/get tempted by new stuff.
You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrists' office.
