Wretched Excess
« on: Yesterday at 10:31:15 PM »
It was a great day for riding today. I love having 2 motorcycles. It's tough on days like this to decide which one to take out.  Fortunately, time permitted riding both.  A semi-sporty hour on the RT followed by a snack and a bit of football, then a leisurely loop on the Chief.  I felt like a kid whose dad stopped with him at the candy store saying, "Mom doesn't have to give permission".  When he gets home, Mom has fresh baked chocolate chip cookies waiting.  Totally indulgent.

There are many of us on this board who have multiple motos.  How many like taking more than one on the same day?

When I had two, I often did that. I hardly ever ride Liz's bike these days - the ergos just don't work for my old busted up bones any more. But I do miss the days when riding something different was just a choice of which keys to grab.

Enjoy these days.

I prefer to take different ones out on different days.  But there are days when I like to get a 1/2 day of riding and a 1/2 day of something else...like a round of golf.   ;D

When I had two I never rode both on the same day.  By the time I'm ready to turn around on one it's always several hours (usually into the sun) home.   ;)

I do recall several times I would ride the Concours for a few days then hop on the Strom and almost end up in a ditch on the way out of the neighborhood since the steering was sooooooo different.  :o

When I had two, I just ride one on a given day. Never though of a different way.

I've only one moto (one bike to rule them all ), but several other two wheelers to tempt me.
Do I "do the right thing", and burn off last night's twin butter tarts, or enjoy the relative relaxational indulgence of a powered ride?
A training ride on a bicycle wipes me out both mentally, and physically for hours afterward. A moto ride at that point is less than safe.
Conversely, a Duc ride is so easily accessible and enjoyable, too little time remains for an effective bicycle ride what with life's other unreasonable demands factored in.
Wretched excess, though easily attained, is difficult to live with.

Love it.  Some days in the summer I commute on the B12, then take the XR out for some hooliganism.  I don't think I've ever done all of them in the same day, except for a spring tune up ride (just a few miles to warm them up).

I resemble that remark!  I like my five...  Zed has his own set of five and is thinking about number six...

I rode two of mine yesterday!  TTR125 & WR250X - each in an endurance race on the Kart Track.

I can't honestly tell you how many different ones I have ridden in the same day.... at least three... :headscratch:
