It does look good in a mall parking lot, yes?

No worries.  I got it out and dirty on Saturday!  I didn't get any images of the good stuff because there were too many of us on the trail at once for me to stop and grab a picture.  The good news is, it clears the "tester" moguls at start of trails.

Please tell me you're at least going to put some rubber on it?  :o

Eventually, yes.  Once the current rubber burns off OR I can afford a completely different set of wheels and tires, there will be beefier rubber on its feet.

Just be careful if you're going to do rims too.  Toyota loves to use goofy backspacing.  Standard wheels often stick out a bit a farther.  Depending on which tire/size you go with, you might end up rubbing the front wheel wells.

But of course that gives you the justification for a suspension lift.  :P

This is the boat I'm in with my Tacoma. The wheels stick out a bit (hard to tell in this pic).  BFG AT 17's.  Their balls in the snow. I'm thinking of just putting on a set of good snows like Blizzaks for year round use. I don't really do much off road shit.

Had a similar issue with my Corolla; the factory rims were oddly spaced and were made of tissue paper. After I destroyed like 3 rims, I got a set of aftermarket wheels on it, but the spacing was just enough different that you could feel it in the turns and such. I got used to it, but it was an interesting couple of days at first.

Y'all could just shop for wheels with the correct backspacing.   :headscratch:

Good luck finding aftermarket wheels with Toyota OE backspacing.

Unless you limit up-travel, a lift will only net you more tire clearance when parked.
Need a sawzall or a plasma cutter to make real tire clearance.
