Looks like your going to get a little wet tonight.
At the risk of encouraging him, I agree with Cookie.   "Bomber"

20 year old bourbon... Nice

So my wife's childhood friend moved to Chapel Hill from Hawaii with her son (who is one of my son's favorite people - same age) and I'll be visiting sooner than later. My guess is I'll either bring a bike along if we drive (not likely) or rent one if we fly (more likely). Maybe I'll get a chance to have a drink and some que with you some day. The roads out there make Chicago area look like driving through Nebraska.

Enjoy the rest of the trip.

Dan, give me a shout when you know you'll be in the area.

As an update to this mini trip report, this trip was a last minute decision and the weather in the mountains was crap.  North Myrtle is out of the overbuilt Myrtle Beach area and rooms are dirt cheap this time of year.  While this 2 bedroom is all I could find at the last minute (Easter Weekend / Spring Break), it's only $150 / night.  It has a full kitchen, I get breakfast at the pier included, and I have a whopping balcony which I plan to relax on today reading a book.

Unplugging is good.

Relatively speaking.

I didn't want to return to N. Myrtle since this was my destination for the sprig trip last year.  But, I need to get back home by 1PM on Sunday for Easter Brunch with the family.  This is the closest coast to me, so I can make good time getting back home.  The next time I have an impromptu coastal trip, I'll either go to Beauford, NC or Nags Head.

N. Myrtle isn't bad.  It's definitely not as crowded and touristy as Myrtle.  But, I came at the wrong time.  There are way too many people here this weekend for me.  Last year, I came here in the middle of March and it felt like I had the entire place to myself.

Way less high rise and more single residential here.

I have a nice ride today.  The weather turned out very nice after the morning rain showers.

I did a loop through tidal swamp forest and wetlands areas of NC and SC.

Awesome run! thanks for posting it.
The GS can be a big-boned girl in deeper sand, but apply some throttle and she will dance. She tire you out however.  ;D

This guy makes me feel so much better about my ability to make the near 14 miles of crap like this w/o going down.

Luckily, some of my training kept telling me to:  1) stand up, 2) relax and let the bike move, 3) keep on the throttle.

Still, this type of stuff is a lot easier on a smaller bike with proper tires.  It sucked on the big GS with Anakees.
