Spring is Sprung
« on: March 07, 2015, 12:57:40 AM »
14c yesterday, 17c today. The tress are in bud- birch has its lovely purply bloom, ash is begininng to leaf-wild daffodils are starting to flower. primroses have been out for a while. Hedgehogs are being squashed by cars on the road again.

The boring days of winter have gone.

It's a damn find day here, too. High of 14C (16 tomorrow!) and cheerful sunshine. The spring cleaning bug hit me hard and I did a fairly thorough attack on the kitchen and bathrooms. Now to enjoy the rest of my afternoon having lunch on the Rhine with a couple of avid motorcyclists (anyone know Lorraine Spence?) and then off to Germany to pick up our new helmets :chili:

Tomorrow: a day ride to the south!

Bah.  Still got about 5-6 inches of snow on the ground here.   Nursing a wrenched back this morning from all the snowblowing/shoveling yesterday.  Noticed deer in the woods behind my house.  First time I've seen them this close; they usually hang out in the much larger forest about 1/3 mile away.  Might be lack of forage.  Dunno whether to bomb 'em or feed 'em.

I figure there's at least one more frozen precip event and multiple sub-freezing events.

No salt and sand in Switzerburg?
Feels like I've been here before, fuzzy then but still so obscure........

Maybe you had too much too fast.

The only debris on the roads were were on were rocks and stones that had rolled down the hillsides in the mountains. There were some lovely curves attacked with pleasure today  :D
