PA Foliage / Dual-sport Ride
« on: October 25, 2014, 05:30:55 PM »
I headed out this afternoon to explore the area between Derry, Bolivar, New Florence, and Ligonier. Managed about 165 miles for the day and found lots of big bike friendly roads and a couple not so friendly roads. Stopped for a nice IPA at the Ligonier Tavern before heading home. Good day on the bike. The 950 gets some lovin' tomorrow...

And since most people probably don't read the "off road" ride reports, here are my photos from yesterday. Had the day off so I went riding all afternoon. Explored some dirt roads in the hills east of Pittsburgh. Still some color on the trees...

Inspiring.
You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrists' office.

+1. Awesome autumn colors.

Maybe we don't got the best riding in the world here in Pa, but we sure got it good.

Great ride.  With days so short, how do you find time to stop for photos?  Thanks for sharing.

I don't stop long for photos. Slam on brakes when I see a photo op, put the bike in neutral, quickly extract camera from tank bag, take the shot, and move on. Probably 30 seconds or so unless I actually get off the bike. That's why so many of my photos DON'T have my motorcycle in them. I take lots of photos on solo rides. Not too many on group rides because I stop so often it would blow the flow of the ride.

I'm more likely to read an off-road report than any other

You need to learn to take pics without stopping  :smoking:

Hell, garry. I can no longer tell if anyone here reads the on road ones.
