2006 Sprint 1050 ST ABS - $5400 or trade
« on: May 03, 2014, 12:00:32 AM »
Can't believe I'm doing this, but I want a silver ZX-14 and that means the Sprint has to go.

2006 Sprint 1050 ST ABS

Caspian Blue, Excellent Condition

- TOR exhaust and matching tune (both installed by me), stock exhaust included
- brand spankin' new fairings 2014 season with larger cut out and improved heat kit, from the factory
- heat kit also installed under tank by Team Triumph in Janesville
- Down one  tooth front sprocket, like it should have been stock (easier at slow speeds, off the line, and adds extra pep) original included
- speedo programmed for gear change to match OEM speedometer (with Tune ECU)
- 2007 higher handle bars
- Suspension set up for 170lbs rider
- Factory matching panniers
- SW Motech top case rack
- Almost brand new pilot road 3's - less than 2000 miles on them
- Upgraded R/R with MOSFET Shindgren unit and factory cable. Perfect.
- Battery tender lead with weather proof cover
- Rebuilt front brake calipers with coated Daytona 675 pistons  to improve feel / lever travel
- Upgraded Triumph master cylinder
- HID head lights - much brighter (but still cut off in curves at night)
- clear turn signal covers rear and front (in mirror stalk)
- Double bubble tinted touring screen
- Ram mount on left/center handlebar bolt
- Always changed oil and filter beginning, mid (depending on mileage) and end of season, or every 3k miles (whichever came first) with fully synthetic 15w-50 Mobil 1, then Motul, then Maxima (which is too expensive!) done 2 weeks ago.
- Engine Ice in radiator now
- Rear brake pads 6k miles new, fronts maybe at 50%
- 12k service also done at Team Triumph, Janesville, WI
- Always stored with gas preservative and full tank with gas run through engine each winter (ridden when able/ roads dry)
- Various extras, useful parts, master cylinder, stock exhaust, spare brake lever, extra right and left fairings (one scratched up from 0mph fall (and poorly touched up) by previous owner
- Printed and bound copy of factory service manual included

Only 18,000 + miles or so, still riding.  $5400 takes it.

This bike has seen highway commuting and many many miles back and forth between Chicago and South Haven, Michigan, sometimes on the slab but usually on the back roads. Great bike, would gladly keep it, but I have an illness called new bikeitis. . . Enough to even part with this perfectly set up bike.

Equivalent or better trade offers welcome. Looking for 2006 or newer silver ZX14, 2nd gen FZ1 (with lower fairings and fueling issues resolved), k1300s, or other sporty tourable bikes. Low mileage Futura? VFR 1200? You see where I'm going with this.

Only listing it here, and STN, but feel free to spread the word. Shoot me a PM.

Going through photobucket album, I think this one is the old fairing.

These are just pictures I had on hand. I'll wash it and take some shots from all angles, maybe this weekend.

Muchas gracias. Forgot to mention clean title in hand. Had a very nice ride home from work tonight. Bike is spinning like a top.  Make an offer, but I'm not the most highly motivated seller out there... Just want to ride more bikes.

OK, it's now been washed twice due to getting caught in a couple storms. It's clean, will take new pics as soon as I can get it in the sun. Thought I'd bump it up.

Everyone at Clay's saw the bike, and Capirex saw it in action if anyone has questions. Side bags have now proven to be waterproof from the outside (a broken bottle of bourbon on the way to Clay's last year proved they were waterproof from the inside...)

Hoping to get to the dealer to see if they'll take a trade next week, but would prefer to sell to someone who will use it well. If you want a nicely sorted and good example of a well treated bike, this is the one. Pretty sure I cracked 19k miles...don't think I hit 20k yet...

I hate to say this, but I am so glad you're in Chicago.

My VFR is safe, for now.
