group of pics from my journey to the 2003 Meet in Custer, SD.

Welcome to South Dakota. Someone,
Goldylocks303, and cws taking care of b'ness right on the border...not
being bashful about cars driving by.
Lineup outside the VFW. Most people
had arrived by then. Bikes are 2 deep in this shot. I
think the locals were shocked.

T-shirts were handed out...then let the
eating begin. The VFW people were very nice and helpful.

Cruising home through Wyoming. I was
bored.
This is why I was bored, riding with no
hands, and taking pictures at 90.
Then the rains hit hard. Suiting
up under and overpass.
Then the snows hit. Somewhere in
Bighorn National Forest. Temperature about 32.
Don't want to hit one of these.
This was so sad I had to turn around and
take a picture. Poor, poor Yamaha (sniffle) abandoned in the
snowy wilderness.
Then the fog hit. 30 feet of
visibility at best. SLOW going for many miles, couldn't see a
damn thing, but that didn't slow the semis down. Temperature = 28
degrees. Suck!
Ahhh, out of the fog/clouds, rain, snow,
ice...heading towards Ten Sleep, WY and Cody beyond.

On the shore of Yellowstone Lake. I
love this pic! Almost got stuck too. The lake is fricken'
HUGE.
Hello Mr. Buffalo (right beside
Yellowstone Lake).
Hello Buffalo family (near Old
Faithful area).
The famous Highway 12 in Idaho. This
is coming down from Lolo, MT into Idaho. 77+ miles of 35-45 mph
twisties along the Clearwater river. Definitely a destination
highway.
Lots of rafters out on the Clearwater when
I went through on Saturday.
The newly paved Spiral Highway (old
Lewiston grade) overlooking Lewiston, ID. It seriously looks
like a large racetrack winding out of the valley. No time to
ride it tho. :-(
I took a LOT more pictures, but these
were just the select crop. I had a great time and look forward
to next year...both the ride to and from the meet, and the meet
itself.

| I think thats the same overpass that the SO and I ducked under on I-90. There was a rest stop about 3 miles up the road from there that wasn't showing on my GPS for some reason. It sure was raining hard through there for us.

I'm totally bumbed out that I couldn't make the Meet. Next year for sure.
Your ride to the meet looks a LOT more interesting than the one some of would have/did take - eg 90W for 550miles : (

| Ahhh Wyoming ~ good ole home. :D The north and western parts are fun to ride, but Lord help you out on the plains ~ BORRING!! Funny that you took a pic at the Wind River res ~ I grew up in Lander, just ouside that res and in the Wind River mountain range. :D
