It's not really all that much more than some of the "top tier" offerings out there already.

I picked up an RS-1 over the winter and it is pretty quiet.  I bet with a customized Bell, it would be great.

By the tone of the article, it's designed for the track rider.  I'm not sure the air ventilation would be ideal for a more upright seated touring bike.

I do like the idea, though.  After my recent experience with the C3, I realize finding a lid which is made for your headshape (round for me) is the first key for comfort.  The C3 caters more towards a narrow head.  For the initial part for the day, it's great.  But, as the day wears on, the lid wears on my comfort. 

I would definitely do it!  My head is too small for most helmets and so I wear a children's size S.   The upside is a super-cheap helmet, but it means I have NO bells and whistles:  crappy vents, loud, no options like flip-up, no easy visor swapping mechanism, etc.  I would happily spend money to have a custom helmet that fit my head and had some nice options that come standard in adult helmets.
