One of the guys from work was able to make it over to my place today for some jamming. There's another guy but his wife had a spa day so he was stuck with the kiddies :) Kevin hasn't been playing as long as we have (Paul had been in a couple of bands when he was younger and I've been taking lessons and playing Rocksmith a lot more than he has). Paul (the guy on Bass) and I had some ideas on what to try so Kevin could play next time. This time, we did a quick 12 bar blues jam which went ok. We tried a few of the songs we'd learned last year but that didn't go as well. So he plugged in to Rocksmith 2014 (he only has the original one and little or no DLC). One of the easier songs I found that I liked was Aerials by System of a Down. We played it as Multiplayer in Rocksmith and I thought it went pretty well. There are really only two pieces so it was pretty easy to transition from Rocksmith to playing with the real song through my PA and amps. Next we played without the song. I asked Jeanne to record one of our plays. Of course it was the worst run through I seriously did better on the one before _and_ the one after Isn't it always that way?

Anyway, here's the one we recorded.



Very very bassy although on the iPhone we didn't hear any bass at all.

Fun fun fun. We picked this one and a Dan Auerbach (from The Black Keys) one as the first ones to try when Kevin is playing.

I appreciate your efforts Carl. Really, I do. I'd never heard of System of a Down before. Lyrically, I'm thinking you need to start listening to a more positive playlist.

No no, this is one of the DLC on Rocksmith. It's pretty easy to play as you can see and we're looking for songs we can get Kevin to play without too much trouble.

Wait until we record Dan Auerbach :)

Actually the ranting lets me get the irritation out and organize my arguments. I can vent, write, and come up with a list of issues plus logical answers in order to resolve this in a professional way.

Ranting can be good. Without it, it all builds up and can blow.

I'm really a calm, laid back guy in general. Perhaps because I have an outlet :)

Not too bad, I just started on that song.....you do it better than I.

Looking forward to being able to have a "jam session", one of the guys a work
has an impressive play list in his head. Something like 150 songs.....

Working on "spirit of the radio" and the Boston set also.
