Putting out feelers...I have a Winchester 94AE in .44mag that I bought in 2004 for deer hunting. I fired it a few times to get the feel of how it shot and then killed on deer with it. Total rounds through it are around 20. First thing I did when I got it was have a light gathering front site put on. I do not have the original front site, but it was a turd anyhow.

ANYWAY, about a year ago I inherited a Savage Stevens 30-30 that shoots like  butter, so I don't really anticipate hunting with the Winchester again. I've put off selling it because it just feels right. But...no point in having something just taking up room, so I figure I'll see if there's any interest in someone having a really nice shooting rifle.

You might want to keep it for any guests you take hunting that don't have their own rifle? Just a thought...

I'll have to double check, but I'm pretty sure this only came in the 16" barrel. As for price...still trying to hammer that out. If you can point me to a reliable guide, cool. I've seen people slapping on prices between $450 and $700. Since they made a ton of these, I'm suspecting the lower price is more grounded in reality.

edit: Well, now I need to measure for sure. I was thinking this was the trapper, but I don't think that came with the checkered stock.

No kids around I take it.....theses make perfect learner hunting guns, especially in the scrubs of Middle TN.

I love those guns.  If it wasn't a total pain in the ass to export guns (particularly for one-off random imports) I'd probably be after it myself.

Pretty much the only long guns I buy other than assault rifles are levers, preferably in pistol calibers.

Yeah, if there winds up being no interest in it I won't be sad to keep it. The gun just feels right when I shoulder it and puts the bullet where I want it. Can't ask much more than that.
