I have more, but these are the ones I use the most. The one on the far left is a Streamlight Stinger Rechargable. I have one at home and work. I  also have a couple of these Pelican lights, even have one attached to my AR-15 with a pressure switch.

I just bought the ProTac 1L. I've been carrying it with me everyday now.

I'll see if I can grab a pic later...Klarus XT2C here.

Interface is ideal for me. One momentary switch for 460 lumen strobe, separate switch for constant on.  Cheap and adequately durable.

I used to be an all Surefire guy.  The XT2C converted me.

Mini maglite LED, cheap guides man LED - really bright and waterproof.

That little guy? Brighter than both, great adjustable focus, bright, less bright and strobe all on one AA battery. $5 at amazon. I buy them and give them away as gifts.

My kids are nightmare on lights.  They love 'em so I can never find them until some random day when I discover one left on in a drawer someplace and dow dead.

Young kids and flashlights are an expensive combo.

There are a bunch of lights in the same model from China. Some say CREE some are blank, some don't have the bright/dim/strobe effect, but they're all super bright and work on one AA.

I've ordered maybe 10-15 from different sellers, and they've all worked well, despite differing logos (or lack thereof).

This freebie will get me out of the basement dungeon if the power goes out.  It will lead me to one of several other freebie lights that Beth brings back from conferences.  There are also quite a few Harbor Freight freebies scattered about as well.

I can appreciate a bright light, but not like these guys.

I have a Pelican 7060 led flashlight.  Fantastic.  Long battery life and pretty durable too.  It is a bit pricey but worth it.   :thumbsup:

I've got a couple of the wf501b lights that run on an 18650 battery.They are about 4 years old now and only need to be recharged every couple weeks with daily use.

After reading this, I bought one of the little guys. Amazingly bright! A pretty cool design. :thumbsup:

Yeah, crazy bright for $5 shipped on a single AA battery. Why ever buy any other flashlight?

I mean, I have one of those giant mag lights, which I could club someone with if necessary, but for simple illumination, those little lights are best bang for the buck of all time.

You can make them even brighter by using the higher volt rechargeable batteries also for sale at Amazon, but I never tried.

Probably the same as other lights this size. The super brightness comes from a magnifying lens, rather than a flat one.

Only one I had die was because I left it on all night accidentally. I've never had to replace a battery on one, so I guess my real answer is: plenty long enough.

a flash from the past:

Just picked up a Fenix PD35 Tactical.  Do I need a 1000 lumen flashlight?  Well, apparently, yes.

Work does this thing where you get an electronic attaboy in some attaboy system and you can turn it into giftcards.  So, I recently ended up with 350 bucks worth of gift cards for REI.  I went to the store and nothing really struck my fancy that I actually NEED so I decided to just go to the website and get a bunch of stuff that I want but don't need.  Ended up with a new SOG, this light, some new drawers, some new socks, a new Yeti mug, couple handles for mugs I already have, buncha cliff bars etc.  So, this light was basically free.

Had it out last night and 1000 lumen is no joke in the dark woods.  Wow.  I'll probably hardly ever use it given the rate that setting eats batteries but still, it's quite impressive.  Remember I live in the woods so on occasion, an extremely bright light makes a lot of sense.  The freebies and the dollar store specials are not my go to when there may or may not be a bear 100 feet away.  :)  I like it so far.  I also like the 25 that I recently found at work.  :)
