It's a nice looking bike, but it wouldn't make my top 10 of all time of bikes to own.

Yeah, cause there were so many other bikes that saw duty
as a standard, cruiser, chopper, road racer, drag bike,
cafe racer, tourer, super sport........

And let's not forget the slew of after market companies
it fostered.

There are a ton of photos in the Ebay listing, with the motor stripped right down, showing all the custom work inside the crankcases, and the non-production billet steel crank. Also there are a plethora of tiny little differences between the prototypes and the production bikes that are noted.

It's worth a look at the auction just to row through the pics.

I just hit the link I had in the first post - it works - if that's the one you reference - the eBay auction:

Uh yeah, I did click that link, and it took me to Ebays listings for EVERYTHING that was related to 1969 CB750. I tried 3 times.

And clicking on the one you just posted, it works.

Wierd........

And that affects my top 10 bikes how?  I think you missed the MY in both statements.  Either that or you are extremely pretentious.

Before I answer, I need to know if we are talking about
CB750s in general or this specific one?

If the latter, we're talking about actually owning a
historically significant motorcycle as opposed to
merely acknowledging its existence.

If the former, then I agree. I would drop it in a New York
minute in favor of a '73 Kawasaki Z-1.

Sold US $148,100.00

The latter. This specific CB750 is hand crafted, pre-production. It is collector status and may well have been purchased by a collector who doesn't even ride motorcycles. That's what I see of this, specific, piece of material.  0.02, so no bid from me.
