Citizen has the end pieces in stock, $26 shipped for two of them and the pins (they were so cheap I got an extra). I'd like to get a slightly nicer dress watch as a graduation present to myself, but I'm glad this was a cheap fix so I can keep it for daily wear. It's held up very well for the last 9 years, but the front is a little scratched from working on the bikes and stuff in the lab.
I went to Jared to get a battery changed once, and the guy put the case back on backward and bent the pin. It took them two months to fix it and the pin takes way more effort to pull out than it did, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on the band for what is now a damaged watch. I feel like I need to take it back to Jared if I have a shop work on it, otherwise they will just play the blame game and I'll never get anything fixed on it again. The next watch will never go to a chain store, and I really want to get an eco drive or similar because I'm scared of battery changes now. I changed my own batteries before that and no problems, then I get lazy and the "professionals" managed to screw it up.
Connie, if you see a good deal on a titanium ladies kinetic watch let me know. I'm allergic to nickel so full titanium is a must (I got the citizen because the cheaper watches has stainless case backs at the time). I saw some new citizen eco drives on ebay for $150, but I'm not in a rush and haven't taken the time to look into it yet and figure out what brand I want. When I get more serious about it I'll start looking on a watch forums since that seems like a better option than ebay.
