New 1911 Scales

The OEM scales on the Kimber Pro Raptor II were nice wooden ones with the fancy, fish-scale type checkering. I liked them but wanted to keep them pristine, so put them up as soon as I got something different.

Fake stag horn polymer that was ooookay but disappointing. Also they were tall enough to encroach on the ambi safety in spite of being told otherwise.

Got these and the photo turned out well enough to share. (right-click view to see the full-sized pic because the attached one had to be resized to fuzzy.)

Dig. I see a lot more 3dprinted parts for direct use being sold recently. Hell, I just got a 3d printed bracepad for my new pistol. Keep us updated on longevity. I dig the design with color inset, bet they're lighter than wood too. Not that that's a big issue with most 1911s...

I went with plywood for mine.

Nice.

No vaping. :D

I like the photo as much as the look of the new scales. The composition and lighting turned out better than usual from a phone camera.
