Inspected it today. An early 60s 2200 Swan Neck. Bought. £200. Probably will cost another £150 to get it registered and roadworthy.

mmm-Solange and Stodg...

Washed it after those pics. degreased various greasy parts. I wondered why it was so black, with no gold pinstripes-it's been hand painted at some point. Shame. Wasn't visible until decades layers of filth were removed. Still, not going to restore it. I'll just derust the rusty bits and leave cosmetically as is.

The head lamp is disconnected and the contacts are a mess. No biggy, I'll use a bicycle light.

Today it's wheel and carb stripping time.

It runs but  not well. Usually a simple fix with theses things-clean carb and jets, clean fuel lines, clean fuel filter, new spark plug.

Discovered yesterday it has the later 3800 (about 1974) engine in a 1961 frame.

A ride to Switzerland is not impossible (unless there's a hill in the way). It would take weeks.
