Anyone know anything about KitchenAid stand mixers?

We were given this because the main drive/gear/shaft fell off. It appears to me that it’s just a main shaft with splines and is held on by being pressed into place. I can’t see any other means of securing the final drive/attachment thing. I tried a rubber mallet but it just fell off again when I turned the mixer on.

Ideas welcome.

I know enough to get mine maintained at a local shop. There may be a certified technician near you.

Tried that; when I click on “service locator” it says “access denied”. If it works for you would you might checking Utah/Utah county/Lehi area?

I get  “access denied” too.
Googling kitchenaid service locator didn't find one.
But I found that their service and support has a chat function;

I've fixed a similar thing in the past by simply ordering the new part and pressing it on.

I think I just called the 800 number when I needed to get mine fixed. They directed me to a local guy.

Seen it, thanks, but it doesn't deal with the bottom final drive/shaft/gear, only the one on top/front for the grinder

Well it’s working, or at least well enough to whip cream and frosting. I fully expect the guts to drop out if I try the dough hook.

Pretty stupid design in my opinion if it is just held on the shaft by pressure....
