I had meetings in Holland (along the lake) today- wow is it nasty there.  Tons of snow and super high winds made me glad I had the truck!   Most country roads are closed to anything but 4x4 trucks with clearance.  I went out to my folk's to bring over a snowmobile and I literally dragged the trailer over/through a few drifts on the roads.

Went through there yesterday morning...road pure ice...15 mph...I made it home ok..guess I got lucky.

Saw something just like that back in 2003 just up the road from there.  Was in St. Joseph at the job site in January and the snow started falling as I pulled up.  Spent 4 hours onsite and walked out to 6" on the ground.  As I crossed over I-94 to get on, I could see a massive pile-up in the direction I was headed.  Turned around, got a motel room and hit the attached bar for dinner and some relaxation.  Went home the next morning on clear roads.

Holy smokes did we get dumped on last night!  I have a 3' drift on front of the barn and everything is closed around here.  Time to fire up the super-thrower.  Without a high-clearance 4x4 no one is going anywhere for awhile.
