Anyone into a New Years Day ride?

I try to do this every January 1. I wanna take this photo with the new bike. That is on Scherr mountain WV RT42 close to Mount Storm.

Yikes...that’s a distance up the road from me.

What I do is weather dependent.  I went out for a few hours against my usual practice on Christmas Eve (afternoon).  Weather was cooperating so I figured “why not?”

I'm heading out for a few hours this afternoon, then need to put new tires on the Super Duke. If the forecast warms up a little bit for NYD, I could be up for this. Mt Storm is 2+ hours from home, so not too bad (assuming a late morning start to let things warm up). Always fun to do a NYD ride when the weather cooperates.

Yeah I get that too. However I was the only guy in the shop that didn't ride today. Had to leave the car at the shop to get the new bike home Tuesday. Getting a ride somewhere on Christmas eve is difficult.

I usually ride over to Harrisburg to watch the nuts jump into the river. Now that is some crazy shit.

What are you thinking for a route?  Even if one of us rides Kermit, the other is on an XT. Slow and uncomfortable makes for long day.

Yep, same here.
Just flurries, but cold roads and black ice, not a chance.

Have a short ride planned for Sat. with a couple friends, but the forecast (so far) isn't looking good.

Couldn't duplicate the photo. Maybe next year. No ice on the wall. Rode 80 miles or so. Saw 3 other bikes all Harleys. :D

I plan to get out for maybe an hour or so tomorrow (Jan 2). Need to get the bike inspected and then take the long way home. Supposed to be near 50 and dry.
