VFR 750 headlight bulb changing, now with added broken down-ness

Anybody done this? It looks like there's very little space in there to fiddle around and change bulbs. Any tips?

Don't know about the 750 but the 800 is kind of a pain.

Feck. It started this morning but won't start now. Just akes a loud clicking. I've used a spare battery to try and start but the clicking just got louder. Tis now abandoned several miles away.

Called the owner (it's a loan bike). Silly me left my mobile at home.

"Yup, does it all the time-stuck solenoid. Rock it backwards and forwards in gear and it frees up."

Maybe tomorrow.....

Got it home. And one low beam, to speak Mericun, works. I'll not take it to work tomorrow-the gear lever (shifter) is stiff and I've only managed to get into 3rd and that with a lot of toe pain, even in boots.

A. Yes, there is very little room to get a screwdriver in there to remove the spring that holds the bulb in place. And don't forget the weather seal that needs to be moved back to do this. And get the H7 bulb, that's proprietary to Honda. Or get a H4 to H7 adapter and run standard bulbs. I like the Sylvania Silverstars myself, if you're not going to HID of LED.

B. Trouble shifting. Its a hydraulic clutch, got fluid? otherwise its transmission problems.

Is this a H7 that is different from the H7 you can get at the auto store? My GS uses H7s.

Nope, they're just way less popular than H4's that fit about 80% of the rest of bikes.
