The 2020 season kicks off this weekend at Phillip Island. Rea will try to make it six championships in a row, but it looks like he is going to have to really work for it as the Yamahas are looking very strong (VDM, Toprak, Baz), Redding is quick on the Ducati, and the new Honda appears to be a contender. Race 1 starts in five hours...

Also, our very own Garrett Gerloff is racing this season on a GRT Yamaha. I hope he does well (top 10s), but he has a lot to learn.

Over at ADV it's said race will be on NBCSN at 6-PM on Monday.

I can tell you that Race 1 was a worthy start to the season with a very close finish. And a bit of drama...

Hopefully the Superpole Race and Race 2 are as good.

Thanks to Sandro Cortese's misconception that you get a trophy for winning warm-up

Garrett Gerloff was unable to compete in the Superpole race and race two. Maybe he was getting even with Garrett for getting his spot at Yamaha

We'll yesterday I watched race two, race one highlights and super pole race.
NBCSN did a pretty good job.

Second round race will be broadcast Sunday.

Phillip Island is an amazing venue, over 50,000 fans attended over the weekend.

Based on them stating "possible concussion with no other injuries" I'm hopeful all is well. A bit concerning however that he did suffer a concussion in a MotoAmerica crash last year...

Yep, Redding, Raz, and possibly Lowes and MVDM should give Rea a run for it in this shortened season.

Second weekend of races at Aragon this weekend. It's a Ducati track with those two long straights showing off the Panigale horsepower advantage. I won't spoil the results, but it was a very interesting set of races this weekend. Three rounds to go, two of which haven't hosted a WSBK race in years (or ever).

Chaz Davies appears to be in a rough spot. He just lost his ride to Rinaldi and all the other factory/good seats are full for next year. If he wants to stay in WSBK next year it looks like he will have to take a satellite bike. Recently he said "he deserves better than that". Maybe he does, but it beats unemployment or moving to a lesser series. Maybe he'll just swap seats with Rinaldi.

Ah, man. Swapping with Rinaldi wouldn't be too bad. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him do BSB for a season while he looks for a factory ride. He'd be a hot property there, I think.
