What’s the new normal changing for your holiday?  Absolutely nothing for us but I understand that there are people who actively seek the company of others. What are you doing and how is it different this year?

The local fam is getting together.  Based on past practice, we'll do a good job of social distancing at first, but we'll all be sitting right next to each other within an hour or two.

Going to socially distance at a campground on a reservoir in a very rural county.

My brother throws a huge 4th party every year, and this year is no different. My family and I are going, and will try to do our best to maintain distance. Also wearing masks when we need to in the house for anything.

I'm hoping no "COVID is a hoax"-ers try to get cute.

My sister, her husband and their girls decided to come up from St. Louis for a visit. It’s nice having guests in the house again.

Asked for the day off because I worked SAT/SUN/MON Memorial Day weekend. The little dipshit scheduled me to work. Dammit. It's a mistake on his part as there's a few (important) things 'round the shop only I can do. And my memory is fading as I age.

However, there is no theater in Ashland this year nor any fireworks.   We are still having a good time so far.

Had Mom up for lunch. Went to a small crap show down at the Little town by us. Out for ice cream after that. Enjoying a two hearted ale sitting under a shady tree watching the dragon flys on the pond listening to the symphony that is bird song. Don't get much better.

Took the 4wd pickup down to the river with my honey to sit on the tailgate and crack a few beverages, watch the sunset over the Susquehanna where we watched a few amateur fireworks shows, yelled "Merica!" a couple of times, just basically enjoyed our freedom.

I did sit outside last night. Smoked a Padrón with a cuppa joe and watched the people in the valley set off many dollars worth of fireworks. About an hour os free oohs and ahhhs. Some of it rivaled the public stuff.
