Basically $100. Some try it themselves and end up with an Apple paperweight. Tread carefully.

Really?  AT&T unlocked my iPhone 6s+ for free with a phone call last spring.  Once the phone is paid for, they could care less.  Gave them the IMEI, they unlocked it 24 hours later.

Unlocking isn't the same thing as jail breaking a phone. Unlocking allows competitive carriers to service the phone. Jail breaking is done by people wanting to side-load apps.

And unlocking was exactly what 1K was asking about.  He wanted to use an ATT phone on T-Mobile.

Bingo! And people don't "unlock" and "brick" their phones. They "jail break" and "brick" when done wrong.
