I blame BMW-K.  But I think then he was Lawn Dart.  At least i didn't go italian -- that would have been more expensive. . ..

Loved it when I brought it home like this.

Then the SM bug bit, and I always liked Yamaha's white/red graphics.

Yup, it's a FZ-09. I got it in mid October so I don't have a lot of miles on it. The first impression is how narrow and light it is. It's like a dirt bike. The engine is magical. Tons of torque and revs so easily. Then there is the sound. Wow. Some complain about the twitchy throttle mode A but it's alright by me. Some complain about the smallish tank (3.5 gal). I say no big deal. It's a lot of bike for the price and I can see why Yamaha dealers can't keep them in stock.

I like everything but the headlight.  I'll be glad when the droopy dog headlight fad passes.

My '73 AT-125. I was fourteen when these came out. It was the bike I wanted but couldn't have. I finally got one in 2000 at age 40. It was a non-running, no-title bike listed on Ebay. I just bid on it kind of as a lark and ended up winning. I put a few hundred in it, a lot of hours, and got it running and titled. It's still going strong. I'm thinking about selling it now...
