Good Morning All,
I am planning on shipping my bike to Germany and putting around May-July, just wondering if anyone one else would be interested. I plan on leaving my bike there year round and riding several times a year.  I just received info (with pricing) from Knopf Tours (http://www.knopftours.com/Web-Site/Welcome.html) on 2019 shipping out of Orlando to Heidelberg (bike is shipped via boat and stored with Knopf).  Air Canada also has a bike delivery/air shipping program, with discount if one flies with bike.  Just thought the info would be of interest to a few.

Plan now is to leave the bike over in Germany and make several trips a year for several years--but as we all know life happens.

I keep trying to get in on some Europe riding trips, and I keep failing horribly. Either the time isn't there, or the money isn't there. Usually both. 2019 might end up being the year, though. We'll see. I went to the UK earlier this year with my wife's choral engagement, and I wanted so badly to rent a bike and get away for a bit, but it wasn't feasible, financially. Here's hoping that becomes easier next year.

I'm retired military so I can catch free flight to Germany several times a year and since the VFR was so inexpensive I'll leave it stored with Knopf for $50/month and go when I can. Driven the Alps several times in a car always dreamed of doing it on a bike. Probably gonna buy a small dual sport for putzing around here. Budget is always a concern but camping is safe, easy to meet locals, some great locations, and easy on the wallet. Being retired, time and money do not always jibe.

I've never met the guy, but Knopf has a great reputation by quite a few of my friends.


Drop me a line when you plan to come over if you want to meet up. Maybe we can get Papa a special allowance to come across the channel, and there are a couple of members who come over periodically, even though they usually ride solo and just let us know that they were here after they're home

Same here.  I was considering buying a Euro bike and keeping it with some friends in England, but as you say, time and money don't always coincide.  Space A travel is one of the best bennies for us retirees.

Fourstring and I will be in Central Europe in August next year.  The tentative plan is to fly into London and meander, preferably by motorcycle.  The ultimate destination is Vienna, which is where the World Championships of the Star Trek Customizable Card game will be held.

Eric, I still would like to do it but I can't go at this time due to medical reasons.  If released by doctor to stretch follow-ups to 6-9 months, maybe viable. For now looks like USA for summer, specifically western mountain states......all subject to change :D
