Bike to pickup assistance?

Not sure if this applies to sport-touring, but...
Two of my daughters and 3 of my granddaughters are 1,000 miles away.  So I go there quite often.
I'd luv to take my 650 ninja there (esp when it's warmer there in OK than here in WI).
Easy enough to do with a pickup, but... I'm thinking of trading in the ninja on a FZ-09, which is bigger.
Is there a device that helps load and unload a bike??

You'd probably pay as much for a 'device' as you would for a used one-bike tow behind trailer.   Any small hills/mounds/loading docks nearby that can get you near-level with your truck bed?

I'd probably steal a little trailer and just use that.  You'd likely find 50 other things you can use it for as well.  Load height of the trailer is about 16" and that's quite doable with about any bike.  Though we have, on occasion, used some pretty interesting and inconvenient landscape features to help load the bike or bikes into the truck with just a regular trifold ramp.  Necessity and all that.

Hmmm.. how hard would it be to make a light-duty version of that??
I'm thinking garage door rail and rollers...  a bolt down chock and a winch.  Right??
