My wife is the coolest person, second to none. I've known this for nearly 20 years now. But it's fun to be reminded.
Situation: I'm finishing a major front-end rebuild on my XJ-S. It's been a difficult job, and I'm at the 80% mark.
I texted my mechanic-friend, to see if he could stop by after work for some help reinstalling the steering rack. It's difficult because the damn XJ-S has you reaching into places you can't see, but can, with some difficulty, feel. Jesse is a Jag specialist, and is no stranger to this stuff. Unfortunately, he's at home, ill, with some kind of cold/flu, and had to wave-off.
My wife, who's a "bit of a princess", says: "If I went there with you tonite, do you think I could help you with a few things? I know you feel time-pressured, and I'd be happy to help."
We went to my garage (an aircraft hangar, where I store my car collection and motorcycles) got changed into garage clothes, "gloved-up", and went to it.
In 45 minutes, the most difficult part of the task was done. 15 minutes later, we cleaned up and headed home with several major checkmarks accomplished.
