Yesterday I learned that though I'm a Brit by birth, grew up in Canada and live in the US, my soul is Italian.
Not really, I learned that the first time I set foot in Italy in the 70's, still I re learned it last night after the most excellent cod puttanesca, calamari, bread olive oil and salt washed down with a delightful glass of Primativo followed up with a demitasse of espresso and a shot of grappa for afters. Unfortunately my beautiful wife, (also a Brit who grew up in Canada etc) didn't get to hop into the family Alpha Romeo or jump on the ol' Moto Guzzi V7 for the ride home but still it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Makes you wonder though, how can one country have the coolest cars, coolest bikes, most beautiful women, best food and wine, beautiful scenery, the weathers always nice, fascinating architecture, be the seat of the fashion industry, best shoes...I mean c'mon man, save some for the rest of us
