There is nothing 120 miles north of me but the frozen wastelands known as New Hampshire and Vermont.
I found this link for hosting posted on a Guzzi site:https://fixphotobucket.comYou type in the PB link and it spits out a replacement link.In 5 years, they may ask for $300 a year
The bitch of it is that I have ten years of pic heavy posts on various boards. I've got probably thousands of posts to edit if I want the stories to keep making sense.
I've only been involved on the far side (so I don't know the full details). Is the ?$399? cost per year? Do they offer a tiered service - low users a lower cost? I'd think if they came out with a 59 or 99 / year service vastly more folks would say - cha-ching - done and be happy.Perhaps they've "run the numbers" and know that with the higher cost they'll still end up with more cash in hand (and more PO'd people bashing their name).
to have the ability to post links like on this forum the only option is $399.99/per year.
Can any techie explain why my ST.O & ST.N pictures were snuffed yet, my pictures on my wordpress blog still work?

I was poking around ADV to see how others were dealing with this mess and one thing I found out is that Baldy, the grand Poobah at ADV used to own Sumgmug.com which helps fund the ADV site which is a massive beast. He sold smugmug to his sons and it's still in the family and still helping fund ADV. Pretty interesting stuff.

I suspect any files you may have "linked" to PB were actually uploaded to WP and are hosted from their servers. Just a guess. But hosting images on wp IS one of the things you pay for.

I think that the idea of the photos being cached on orson's computer is the (sad) answer to his question.
Could someone please click on my blog link below and, let me know if you see the images or if it's just me that can see the images?http://orsonstravels.wordpress.com/Thanks

I figure that I might as well give my money to someone who I support
Pbucket sent me an e-mail threatening my account features will be curtailed significant;y unless I upgrade. To which I replied.........Dear Photobucket,Fuck off. From free to $400 USD in one shot? Not a snowballs chance in hell. Good luck with the new business model............or would that be bankruptcy court? I'll enjoy watching you circle the drain for awhile.Michael
Today...? He's making some of my most ranty rants about ranty rants seem like Mr. Rogers on Chlorpromazine.
“With all the photos stored and shared, nearly everyone interacts with a Photobucket hosted image on at least one page across the web over a sixty-day period, putting the photo hosting service as a significant part of the internet,” Corpus said.
Damn...........I am missing something..........other than a few brain cells I mean............
