Wow! What a day and I have lots to share...
I wake up after a solid 8 hours rest to this. Soggy, threatening thunderstorms, rain, the usual.

loginI start getting on it to outrun whatever Mother Nature had in store for me blast down I10. Hands down I10 is the most dangerous road I have ever ridden on in my life twice. Every stop I made folks ask during chit chat to be careful on I 10 as they drive like maniac. They're 100% correct...
I have a long day ahead of me and want to get a full bite out the miles I need to munch. The weather was cool and a bit cold so I had my liners in and was quite comfortable buzzing down the road.
Woohoo Mississippi!

loginI have been mulling over to share an incident with folks but after further thought I decided I should as kind of a PSA. At one gas stop I pulled off I was the only person at the pump. I keep my radar going when I'm on the bike or off for stops. I saw someone approaching me in a creeper kind of way and my spidy sense started tingling.
The gent creeps up from my backside and get within 10' so I turn around and ask, "do we have a problem?"
He says no, "I just wanted to ask you if you have a few dollars to spare?"
I say, "no, have a nice day."
He says, "then I'll just take your wallet." (as he pulls out a knife)
I say, "son, don't do this as it's not going to go well."
As fast as I can I cracked him with the crown of my helmet I'm still wearing and down he goes in a heap and starting to leak from his face. I took the knife he dropped and put it against the curb and stomped on it and broke it in half. Hopped on the Burger and got the hell out of there.
I found another gas station to refuel and got back on the road. The adrenaline was flowing in me and I was shaking like a leaf for 20 minutes. Why do I mention this? Because I feel it is a PSA (public service announcement) to folks who travel on the road alone. Situational awareness is paramount so keep your eyes open wherever you pull into on the road and protect yourself at all times.
No I'm not proud of what I have done nor am I ashamed. I felt I was in harms way swiftly dealt with it. In retrospect did I handle the situation appropriately? idk... If I had a chance to just leave I would have but in this case I didn't. No, I wasn't going to detain him and call 911 as we all know how this would go down, he attacked me and there I am defending myself. So let your conscience be your guide...
Stats for the day.

loginI have a few equipment failures that I'll write about later as I'm too tired tonight. I will share some more of this leg of my journey when i get more time to digest it. I want to thank all the good folks that have reached out to me via PMs, text, and post offering their homes, or a hot meal. I'm trying meet with a few that are somewhat on my journey but the goal is to get conchshooter his bike without a mark on it in a timely manner and get home back to my life.
Peace,
Eric
