Did she leak?

Not as of last night when it was removed. We'll check this morning.

Im riding out in the desert today.
Riding the same little section of road over and over and over.

My tires are getting worked!

Working the evening shift today, so gave the sons the morning off of Covad homeschooling and spent an hour or so blasting around on the bikes. THe oldest moped is raping greatttt since the big carb and expansion chamber. Youngest is getting much better at spinning gravel at me on his chappy 80. Me just having fun with them on the ct110. Yep three bikes rippin up the streets and back roads (topping out at about 30 mph).  8)

Rode across town to my gal's house and back after dinner.  She wanted to get out for a sample ride to see if she's recovered sufficiently to do some pillioning this fall, so we did a couple miles around the neighborhood getting dinner supplies right at dusk.

All went well except for her telling me after the ride that she saw "That big antlered buck that lives in Bonnie's backyard" on the way back.  I didn't see the deer, but I know from prior views that he's a BIG pointy guy.  Not good when your pillion sees the deer.  She's taller than me, but not see over my head whilst on the bike taller.

I do have to say that the 'town' deer are almost road savvy.

Got out yesterday:

The day before, I found that all the small turkeys were taken.  So I had to get a larger roasting pan for the 17 pounder that's feeding only four people this year.

I expect it will feed us through New Year's.

No pizza for a while, while we work through this turkey.  Unless my son makes pizza from scratch (he's pretty good) in service of using up the turkey.

I expect to get out on the bike some this week.  We'll have a few sunny days with highs in the mid 50s per the forecast and my gal wants some pillion time.  Probably just some exploring of New melvilleville.

THe boys and I spent about an hour and a half yesterday on the put-puts, cruzin the hamlet. We have been exploring the deer runs, and back trails a bit more. I am sure we will be doing the same today  ;D.

Side note: I figured the locals might not be too keen on our escapades, nope not the case. Was at the post office gettin the mail, woman I do not know remarked to me that my sons looked sooo happy when we went by her house. I guess we are the "minibike house"

I got out yesterday afternoon for a local bimble with my gal.  She wanted to show me this:

https://www.oregonlive.com/front-porch/2018/06/circle_of_teran_trust_ashland.html

She useta go there when the OG owners/builders were there.  Unfortunately, it's a couple miles past a gate on a private road these days.

We then 'splored a bit and ran up a canyon road until it turned to dirt.  These rides include lotsa pointing at stuff.  Alpacas, interesting trees, views, #vanlife vintage intercity buses, hippie cabins, sheep, and so forth.  She sees a lot back there.  And I can tell when she's excited by what she sees.

Nice!  That's been the case for me just outta town and up the hill for about the last six weeks.

The road department here sands the shit out of the road so the twisties up to the snow are no fun whatsoever, even after the lower elevation snow has melted.

Took Highway 1 down to Santa Cruz, ate my sandwich then rode back home via Highway 9 to Skyline.  No traffic all, the roads were nearly deserted.  Saw a lot of damage from last summer's fires near Swanton. Beautiful weather.

Went out to Point Reyes, 200 miles roundtrip from my home.  Lovely weather, the road out to the point has been repaved, excellent riding.  Only negative was the traffic on the way home.

Did some bucket list items the past two days. Rode all 130 miles of hwy 36 (I like 299 better), rode through the Chandler Tree, and the PCH. All in all 824 miles in two days and lots of smiles.

Got out last night.  We've been making a point of getting out for a pillion dinner date every week.  Yesterday, just a bimble to Jacksonville and dinner at Bella Union.  Always with some "Where does that go?" exploration on the way.

Here is where you start...

I do not winterize.

OK, 400 miles today, from Salmon ID to Crane Hot Springs OR.  Hwys US 93, ID 75, 21, and 55, and County 17 were all awesome.  US 20 wasn't terrible once I got clear of the semis and Honda CR-Vs just before Malheur Canyon, which I got to ride utterly unobstructed.

Another 300 to get back home tomorrow, hopefully before it gets to be 110 deg!  I'll be hitting such urbopolises as Wagon Tire OR on the way.

Crane Hot Springs is sadly a 'textile' hot springs, where nude is assumed to be lewd.  Quite unlike the Warm Springs off Hwy 12 on Lolo Pass, where last Thursday I saw a sign that announced "Clothing Optional Area--you may encounter nude people on the trail and at the terminus"  If the US Forest Service says I can be naked, I'm gonna be naked.  I had a fabulous hour or so of freedom before walking back to the bike and putting ATGATT on for another several hours of a different kind of freedom.

305 miles on Wednesday.  Left home on the peninsula and headed to Hollister, took 25 south to Paicines then east on Panoche Road, the south on New Idria Road for 17 miles (New Idria is a Dead End - I knew that going in), then back to Panoche Road, and on to Little Panoche Road to Highway 5, the 152 to Gilroy and on to home.  I went out New Idria Road about 15 years ago, the road is in terrible condition, It's so full of potholes people have been driving in the dirt on the sides of the road.  My Tiger did fine but those potholes were bad.  At one point in my ride, I only saw 2 vehicles in over 50 miles of riding on from Panoche road, to New Idria Road, and Little Panoche Road.

I keep lip balm and sunscreen in the tank bag.  On a big day out, I'll also have a full CamelBak.

Up by me, it'll be all green in a month.  Down where he rode, more like Xmas.

Out mit pillion again yesterday for some local exploration.  We're mostly working on making the R100/7 comfortable for her so we can do overnighters on it, possibly things like hitting hot springs in the southeastern corner of Oregon.  She hates the seat but when I give her an option to head home, she's all, "No, I wanna see what's out the other way!!!"  I love this gal.
