I've done the sled thing for many years, but we just don't get enough consistent snow and I don't want to trailer for hours to go ride. This is my 53rd winter and I'm all set, thanks.
Maybe I do need to go further south. (Thanks for posting Glenn.)

I don't understand why, here in glorious Michigan, the local news people keep running stories about snow.  Good grief...it's the end of December - IT'S WINTER!

Dumb FOX station just had a 5 minute story about snow in the mall parking lot...oh NO!  Last minute shoppers have to walk through some snow in the parking lot on the way to the mall!  WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!

The local ABC affiliate in Milwaukee did the same thing.  They have a guy standing in a parking lot of the Kohl's store at 4:30 in the morning talking about how the snow has impacted the shopping.  Could it be that there were only a few shoppers because it was 4:30 in the morning?

Shoveled the driveway and when i went for my keys they were missing.  :eek: Looked everyware and couldn't find them. Well there was only one other place they could be. It took me 15 minuets but i found them burred in the snow.

The snow missed us last night. According to the radar I was right on the edge. I expect a total of only 10-12 inches here today & maybe a couple of more inches early tomorrow morning. No big deal. If it were 2 feet or more at a time, I think that would suck.

All said and done, it looks like we got about 16in/40cm.  The metro area is closed.  All schools are shut, government office closed and even the military base (Selfridge) told all non-essential personnel to stay home.  We're now headed into the deep freeze like Minnesota.  Forecast is for -15*F/-26*C.  Numerous accidents all over the area from the folks who just hadda get out and drive nowhere.  There's a couple semi-trucks overturned and a garbage truck *just* plowed into a post office downtown.     :facepalm:

Same conditions here except the -15 part. I don't know, maybe w/ wind chill. The weather peeps are calling for 3" more inches here. They're calling it "Lake Effect Snow"! Bring it on! I can deal w/ this shit until late March or mid April.

Broke out the heavy winter gear and cleared another 8" off the drive this morning.  My miniature schnauzer couldn't get thru before I cleared it.  He's also reminiscing about Florida sun and heat.   :lol:

Our local station pulls that nonsense as well.  Let's compare a "warm coastal town's" heat of the day temp with our current temp after the sun has been down for 3 hours. 

It's almost as bad as "windchill"  Weather folks love to swim in the sea of me as often as possible.  I guess that's all they really have when their job has been replaced with a free app.

Well, we have Lake Michigan currently keeping us at a balmy 3 F and falling.  What I did today:



That JD 425 with two-stage blower can move some serious snow!  I did my house plus two neighbors.  As long as you bundle up it's fine.

I have an old Sears 26" 7HP snow blower that my father bought in 1985. This thing can throw slush 10 feet. The down side is i can't get major parts for it any more.
