So far, I've done just over 500 kms on the new Super Ténéré. I need to get to 1,000 kms before the 1st oil change and then I'll be good to go.

Today I got the S.W. Motech skid plate that I ordered last week. I'll wait until after the 1st oil change to install it.

Last week I also ordered the AltRider crash bars. I was told that it could take up to three weeks to get them. IF I get them before I leave, I'll probably try some dirt roads once in WV.

There is a possibility that up to two more riders will follow me. One would be on a Wee Strom and the other one is actually looking for one also. If he can't find one he'll probably do the trip on his current ST1300 which happens to be a bike that I previously owned.

I haven't booked a room yet in Marlinton but I am not too worried.

Hah! That was Bike Week in Ocean City, 2 1/2 years ago. That bike was about an hour old when I took that pic. He rode his Stratoliner into town, and while we were walking around town, and the vendor areas, apparently Harley made him a deal he couldn't refuse.

Looks like I'm in.

My daughter has a party for her boyfriend's birthday that Saturday, and some family stuff on Sunday. We're switching weekends, and holy crap... looks like I can get some bike time! Thank goodness the venue is so cheap; I'll be on a shoe-string budget.

Also, looks like my buddy Tim will be joining in, too. Liz can't make it; she's got kids that weekend.

LOL I remember learning to ride with my buddy Peter. Our "rule" was ~20 minutes cleaning for every hour on the bike.

On a Friday night - like tonight - we'd grab a bg bag of fresh clams and a case of PBRs pounders, park the bikes and get stewed. Those were the good old days. Not all that too much different from Friday night at an STO meet.

We got better beer now.

Booked two rooms yesterday for four riders. Dave on his Wee Strom, Paul on his newly acquired Wee Strom and Tyler (Paul's son) on Paul's ST1300 and me. We are planning to leave on May 3rd.

I am really looking forward to this first long ride on the new Super Ténéré. I don't expect it to be as comfortable on long mile days as the R1200RT was but it should be fine. I still need to put some miles on it to break it in before I leave.

It will be nice to ride in WV again and also see familiar faces and new ones.

That means there will be at least 3Wees there. I plan on riding mine. Bought a new GPS and only have the mount for it on my Wee. Debating whether to spend the money on another mount or getting my old GPS refurbished. Very disappointed in new Garmin 595, so much so that even though it is technically obsolete, may go back to old 550. Anyway, not confident that 550 Will survive the trip, so I'm sort of forced to ride my Wee. But then I can ride Dolly Sods.

The effect mountains have on the weather make it very difficult to predict.

Save for snow or massing flooding with road closures, I plan to be there.

Here, I'll jinx us now... I actually enjoy the tranquility of riding in the rain.

Spoke with Beans last night.

Last year it was snow flurries on the way home. I think the hailstorm was the year before that. Before that was the torrential downpour 20 minutes from the hotel. No need to gear up; we're almost there!

I plan to do it counter clockwise.
I have no idea how long it is.
If I was solo I would definitely be searching out a ds route.
