That weekend has three BMW events from Logan, OH, to Hiwassee, GA, an FJR event in Marietta, Oh, and two or three other miscellaneous (mainly DS) events in the SE. Gonna be a busy weekend.

Jimmy, are you riding straight through? I'll probably spend Thursday night around Marietta, then ride down Friday catching many twisties. Be great to ride together. Gary, what do you think???

When i was younger, that was true. Used to cross the border and bring back some of the good stuff. That is no longer true. Michigan is now the Great Beer State.

And not in the town of Greenbrier, which is just down the hill from Marlington.

Changed the oil, adjusted the chain, installed new zumo 595. Need fresh gas & ready to go

The zumo mount is way overdone. Unnecessary cables for a Bluetooth device. Don't understand why the USB cable is twice as long as the others. Ended up packing enough cable under my cowling to open a copper mine.

CB and I spent this past weekend at the Omni Homestead...you know, the HUGE resort on 220 in Hot Springs, VA? It was AMAZEBALLS.

To and from, we traversed many of the usual m/c roads, albeit in Scooby Subaru since I'm not yet ready for primetime, shoulder-wise. I made some notes for your consideration as you plot and plans your routes for the meet in a few weeks:

There is fresh macadam on Patterson Creek Road!
There are logging operations at the top of Smoke Hole Road and the road was VERY dirty.
There was quite a bit of center line gravel on the approach to Spruce Knob from The Gateway.
The Gateway has been renovated inside and out.
There is a GIANT hole in the road on the way to Spruce Knob just prior to the left-hand U-bend at 3,600 ft. elevation.

Do with this information what you will, but I thought it was all share-worthy.

Just ran across WV, 47, 20, 39, 219, finishing with VA311.
I found the roads to be a crap shoot. Anything on the tops of mountains on 20 was chopped up. Other places were fine. Also WV was doing its annual spring cleaning in places cleaning out ditches and leaving junk all over the road. Some places were fine but gas line construction was everywhere but decreased as I went south. 311 was in good shape. I think things will be typical WV spring riding, great in places and some places not so great.

Have a friend who nearly lost her father to that very thing. Big ole HD dresser just dropped off into an abyss. He barely survived it and was dramatically and permanently altered.
