I think I need to point out now. Before I started riding motorcycles I fell in love with photography. So you're going to see a lot of photos that have nothing to do with motorcycles.

I rode 3 days and trucked the high country 3 days. There will be a lot of scenery pics with no motorcycle content. Enjoy.

The drive up was uneventful. I stopped a few times when I saw something interesting.

As you can see by the pics, there was not a cloud in the sky Saturday.

Oh yeah, one of the things I learned that day: Don't take the truck down a washboarded gravel road with the bike in the bed.

JonS and I agreed to meet at the dam at 0900. Of course we were both early. Jon by 10-15 minutes. He was closer and has the more awesomer bike. We chatted a bit before heading out. Then we stopped in Cedaredge for a smoke/water/bathroom break and chatted a bit more before heading over the top of Grand Mesa. Once we got to Palisade for gas it was beginning to heat up. Jon took off for Montrose via Grand Junction and I reversed what we'd just ridden.

I did not bring my camera for this day. I only had my iPhone and the only pic I took while we/I were out was of the beautiful Tuono Jon has. 92 & 65 is probably the best combination of highways Colorado has to offer IMHO. I was pretty beat by the time I got back to Gunnison.

I had eaten at Mikey's Pizza a few times the last couple of years. However, I ate there the previous night and tonight and was not impressed. Time to find a new watering hole I guess.

I have not seen it this full in my lifetime.

Now we're headed to Tincup and Mirror Lake. Take a left at the stop sign! Ironically, the only leo I saw the whole week was a parked Gunnison County Sheriff vehicle with no one in it in Tincup. Mirror Lake is a very pretty lake.

This photo is not mine. When I was there, the water level was well over the road on the left side and the number of people was incredible. On the way back down I met a fellow Texan going up. He said in passing, "we need more of these roads in Texas!". Which I promptly replied, "NO SHIT!".
