I recently purchased this bike from a friend that bought it new. He had some health issues last year and wanted something a bit tamer so I bought the bike to help him out. I really didn't intend to keep it (though I would like to) as I've got more now than I need. Most of the miles are from commuting. Garaged since new and in great shape cosmetically and mechanically. Regularly serviced at recommended intervals.

Mine is 10 years older and has lived a hard life (two ocean voyages, two years in storage, use in all kinds of weather, me as a home mechanic) and is still pulling strong at 98,660 miles. So I wouldn't say 52,700 miles is disqualification. The trouble is, in this country where most people think motorcycles are toys, there are always low-mileage used bikes available.

Bump and GLWS from a firsthand witness to how tough Speedies are.

Had decided to keep the bike after last selling efforts here (2016) but I just don't get to ride it enough to justify keeping. Other than needing tires and fork seal(s) it is still mint. Has just over 54K on it now but still looks, runs & rides great. Lance (motociclista) has one just like it with over 100K on it. This bike has many good miles left in it.

My '97 rolled over 110,000 miles last weekend and it's not nearly as good a bike as a 2007.
