Pillion and I heading to Buena Vista. The light blue graph is the chance of rain, the light purple is chance of snow. The further south you go the nicer the weather.

It's our first long trip together on a bike. I want it to be a good experience for her, she's still in training.

I had a funny dream that Sat AM was cold and sucky so the girls all bailed cuz they're smarter than we are. Then Kim, Liz and Beth all went on a roadtrip back to my place, built a fire, had a nice lunch on the grill, drank hot tea and watched the hummingbirds and told lies about us. Then they headed back and were there warm and happy when we rolled in freezing and miserable after a day on the bikes. I told Kim that and she said it sounded totally reasonable to her.

Three of us were going to attend, but the forecast of cold and wet is discouraging for camping and riding. Camped there Sunday nite this weekend two years ago and it was frosty with a low of 25 degrees.

It'll be a cool morning. I wouldn't advise placing a tarp over your bike in these winds. Does anyone remember the Indy GP and the bikes blown over in Ducati Island because of the rain covers tuning into kites?

Saturday

Showers likely, mainly between 11am and 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. West wind 9 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Brief showers but not warm and 28 MPH wind gusts!? Debris!

Saturday Night

A chance of rain showers, possibly mixing with snow after 4am, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

I seem to remember another spring meet with snow in May in West by God Virginia. And you were involved at Snowshoe ( go figure)

Actually the meet was in Sparta, but I remember leaving Snowshoe (stayed at a friend's condo) and waking to an inch of slushy snow on the bikes. Cold, cold, wet, cold, nasty ride to Sparta. Did I mention it was cold and wet? I don't think I warmed up until the next morning. Had a fine time.

The significant rain has already moved east of Pittsburgh, and with the afternoon forecast looking very nice (almost sunny), Chris and I are going leave here about Noon and taking the long way to CVR via Smoke Hole Rd (250 miles).
